Holy Moley

We've been in our house about 2 weeks now and it's been a blast!  The biggest problem we have run into is moles.

I killed my car battery by accidentally leaving the light on in the inside :(  Luckily a friend from work only lives 3 minutes away and was SO nice and came over and jumped my car.  I was giving her a house tour and I was showing her the backyard and was pointing out this weird mound of dirt.  She told me that it was a mole hill.  Sure enough there were about 6 more hills that popped up in the next few days, Jeff even caught one digging up the dirt!  Jeff went and bought some stakes that send out a sound and that has kept them away so far.  Although we did notice a few hills pop up in the front yard yesterday but at least they are on the side of the house but still annoying!  Jeff sprayed some grub killer around the outside of the lawn to kill off anything those things are eating.

My mom was sending me pictures of her yard yesterday because I had about 1 million questions for her about what to do with our yard:) In almost every one of her pictures Lilly was there, it was SO funny when I got her first pictures because I didn't even notice the plants, just the big brown dog in the background :)

Super Model

She is so funny, my mom says this is exactly what she does whenever my mom and her go outside.  Lilly follows my mom wherever she goes and just watches her :)

Here is a picture of our front yard, my mom said now is a good time to plant bulbs so I'm thinking of where we should put those for some extra color.  I was given a mum as a house warming gift and I'm going to find a pot to put that in.

Our yard was mowed for the 1st time yesterday.  I also got a new welcome mat, Jeff said he liked the carpet that was sitting there from when the contractors were working on the house...that had to go :)
