Jeff and I finally had a day off together this last week so we decided to get out and experience some things! We rode the MAX to the zoo - that was an adventure in itself! The MAX was really clean and neat compared to DC's Metro which was a little older and not quite as clean but there were some really...unique...people riding along with us in Portland. I think we picked a weird time of day. They also don't always validate your ticket before you get on the MAX so there are plenty of people who don't pay...
Anyway! We decided to go to the Oregon Zoo...which is different from the National Zoo because you actually have to pay to go in but it was still fun none the less! We had one of those Elephant Ears - fried dough tossed in butter, sugar, and cinnamon - SO GOOD!
I always wanted to learn about bear scat!

When we were growing up Erica had a stuffed animal named "White-y". This guy would be the full size version. Isn't he cute!
We also went to Powell's Books in Downtown Portland - it's a new and used bookstore that is HUGE! We were there probably close to an hour and I feel like we didn't even see half of what there is to see. I definitely want to go back :) If anyone reads THIS blog, she will be there tomorrow! I'm so bummed because I have to close the store :( boo.

BEAR SCAT!! lol When I 1st saw the picture (before I read your caption ... I was thinking .."That looks like POOP!") BINGO! It was! Never been to a zoo that had a display of POOP! LOL Must be a sign of a good Zoo! ha ha!

Just last week Tim was telling me that we need to take our girls to the zoo, because we have never gone there. Your zoo up there looks pretty cool, and who doesn't want to learn about Bear poop? That's hilarious!!
