Haircut, Books, and Food

Today I finally went to have my hair done, the last time I had it even cut was the first week of September so I was looking a little ratty and had some serious roots.  I can always tell when I am desperately needing a hair cut because I won't wear it down - only a pony tail - and Jeff can tell my roots are showing.  Since I'm not working the most cost effective way to have my hair done, besides doing it myself (that would be a disaster), is to go to a cosmetology school and have a student do it.  I have friends who experimented on me while they were in cosmetology school and I didn't have a bad experience so I went to one here in Oklahoma City called Duncan Brothers.  All in all it was fine.  I've been to so many stylists since my friend Shelby left Idaho almost 2 1/2 years ago I've been able to deal with it but I cannot wait to finally find 1 person to do my hair forever!  Is that weird?  I'm glad it's over and now I'm good for another 3 months :)  Yay!

Here are the 3 books I have finished in the last 1 1/2 months since we've been in Oklahoma:

  1. The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.  It was REALLY good!  At first it took me a while to get into it but once I did the pages flew by.  It's a historical fiction with vampires - more grown up than the Twilight series.  The author just released her newest book The Swan Thieves and I plan on eventually reading that one too.
  2. Sleeping Beauty by Phillip Margolin.  A woman I worked with at Pottery Barn recommended this one as an easy quick read.  It was very entertaining.  It's a murder mystery that is set in Portland.  I read it in about 4 days.
  3. A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks.  Typical Nicholas Sparks.  It was different from the movie, as usual.  I didn't like it as much as another Sparks book I read, The Wedding, but it was easy to read and quick with a good message...awe :)
ALSO, I found THIS recipe while browsing off of Heather's Cre8tive blog.  It will be one of the first things I make when we finally get to Oregon among some other delicious things!
