Coolest 4th of July EVER!
There is a small airport that some of the Portland controllers work at during the week in Washington and it happens to be where the fireworks in Washington are set off - they don't do any firework displays really in Oregon. One of Jeff's Co-workers owns a plane and has a hanger at the smaller airport in Washington so a bunch of Jeff's Co-workers gathered at his hangar to BBQ, hang out, and watch the fireworks. His Co-worker, Zap, who owns the plane offered to take us for a ride a few minutes after we arrived! I had never been in a small plane before and the weather in Oregon couldn't have been better for a plane ride!

It was seriously an awesome 4th! It was such a nice surprise for Zap to take us up, we were spoiled :)

Oh WOW!!! That would have been an awesome 4th!!! So glad you got to ride in a small plane! Personally, I'll take a BIG one over a little one ANY DAY but it's good to do it once or so in your life!! (I'm chicken! lol
