I had already geared myself up for running the race solo but while I was waiting for the train downtown there was another woman standing next to me alone. We both probably stood out like sore thumbs because I swear everyone was with a group except us! I can't remember how we started talking but turned out she was also running the 8k and her husband had backed out on her the night before (my husband was going to be a spectator but really enjoys his sleep so I lost my one fan to sleeping in!). Fiona and I had a similar pace so we were able to stay with each other the whole 4.97 miles :) After we finished we were able to grab a free drink for finishing the race and a cup of hot salmon chowder from one of the local restaurants together and rode the train back to where we parked. I'm so thankful that I made a friend at the race, I definitely don't think it would have been as fun!

WAY TO GO CHRISTA!!!! So proud of you AND I would have been there to cheer you on IF I lived closer!!
I do love the bedroom sprint picture though!!! HILARIOUS!!
GOOD JOB!!
Christa! That is so awesome! I am so proud of you for 1.) doing it, 2.) sticking to your guns and doing the 8K 3.) not chickening out when the people bailed on ya- including Jeff- the punk! SO AWESOME. And great time! :0) You have inspired me to get my butt in gear and do a run- even if it's only a 5K! When are we doing the 1/2 marathon? This year, right??
You rock girl! I need to get my run back on!
That is so cool!!! Great job, Christa!!! :) I've heard that participating in races is a fun hobby, and I can totally see that - you rock! :)
