Skiddadle to Seattle!

Yes we did :)

We had 2 days off together so we planned a trip up to Seattle as a pre-birthday celebration for Jeff!  Jeff had never been before but I had been a few times to see my best friend from high school when she was going to UW.  Each time I had been up I had had such a good time so I knew Jeff would love it too!

Day 1:
It took us about 2 1/2 hours to get to Seattle.  Our Hotel was awesome, The Quality Inn, we stayed at one here in Portland while we were waiting to get into our apartment and we liked it.  It was also nice NOT to have to pay for parking.

The Space Needle.  It was 1/2 a mile from out hotel.

Hot chocolate for the boat ride?  Yes please!

It was a little rainy...

Jeff is "putting out the vibe"!

We HAD to go to this ice cream shop!  The waffle cones smelt amazing...it also helps that they were huge :)

PIKES!

Catch a fish.

Outside the very 1st Starbucks.  Mmmmm coffee :)

We went back to the waterfront after it stopped raining to enjoy it some more.

The Beatles stayed here...

...and fished from their room :)

Day 1 was fun!  *the face I am making was inspired by Ben's son Quincy :)

Day 2:
We had breakfast at our hotel then checked out and played downtown for a few more hours.  It was POURING when we first left so we were just a little wet :)  The sun eventually came out and it was beautiful.  We decided to take a bus tour that takes you to some of the off beat spots in Seattle.

Columbia Tower, Smith Tower...and "showgirls" lol

SubSeattle Tour

Lake Washington - Looking at Bellevue, WA

Kurt Cobain's house

A bench outside of the property that people sign and leave notes.

Another view of the house.  This is for my friend Greg in VA!  He loves Kurt.  I guess in Seattle there are people who think that he was murdered and that he didn't kill himself.  Our tour guide said there is a show that comes on every night called "Kurt Cobain was Murdered".   A few different people have lived in the home since he died.

At a park near the Seattle Conservatory

After the tour was over we walked back down to Pikes Place Market to eat and so I could make my contribution to the Wall of Gum!

Wall of Gum at Pikes Place Market - I had to add my own!  Jeff wasn't down with the idea :)

I'm sure there is some serious stuff growing on there...

AWESOME!! I would love to be able to sight see whenever I had a day off!! I suppose there are places here that I've not seen, just need to make a point and get out there and do it!! The gum wall is very interesting! As long as ya didn't get the chew off it in the 1st place! lol

Looks fun. That ice-cream looks yummy. That wall of gum- wow! That is a lot of gum. I thought Kurt's home got torn down - obviously not! Glad you two had a fun little getaway!
