This Saturday may be our last Saturday off together for a while - Jeff will hopefully start on a different training schedule later this week and with me working retail now I know I'll hardly get weekends off. After an interview one day I drove around our area of Portland to try to become more familiar with streets and stuff like that. Alot of people I'd met mentioned Marine Drive as a way to get to the airport and also mentioned it in reference to running trails. IT WAS SO COOL! There are house boats all along the Columbia River, it has a great view of the Portland tower, and there are trails that go right along the water to run or bike.

I hadn't been to the Portland airport yet so Jeff drove us over there too. The tower is SO big and it's SO cool because you can see it most the time when you're driving on the highway. When ever we're out and about as soon as I see it I tell Jeff, "I can see your office!". I would love to be able to go up and see around because I know the view is breathtaking but some guy in NY ruined it by bringing his kid in and letting him talk to the planes! Boo :( Read about it HERE. Hopefully one day though!

We were on some road and we didn't know where it went so we stopped and turned back to the direction we came in - it was pretty on the side of the road.
We also wanted to drive over to Washington State to look at some houses and neighborhoods for when we hope to buy next year. We did find that there is a direct correlation between price and how high it is on the hill and how nice the view of Mt. Hood is from the home...we'll be staying lower on the hill ;)
On the left is a Puff Pancake I made last weekend - it was awesome! I know Heather had made these before so I wanted to try it myself. Oh, and I love Girl Scout cookies - these made a great addition to our weekend, makes me think of when I used to have to sell them!
Other than those few things, I've made it through my first week of being back at work and Jeff is still enjoying his job. I'm grateful that we have jobs because I know how hard it is to find one! Hope everyone enjoys their week!

All these pics make me miss trees and water. Maybe some day we will be able to get back up north. I hope so. I am glad you guys are enjoying your time there!
You should come visit! I think it will be awesome if Scott is able to get a Northern Border :) It would be so cool to have to guys closer.
