...let me egg your car!
This happened Friday night - the official first night in our new apartment. I went to the grocery store Saturday and noticed the shells and egg splattered all over the back of my rear window and there was also some on the front window and hood. I drove around the parking lot and didn't notice anyone else who was victimized lol. At first Jeff and I thought that people just hated us because we had Virginia plates - people around here drive around with bumper stickers that say, "Keep Oregon Weird" - so we just decided it was someone who didn't like people from out-of-state moving in. Then yesterday, while we were watching Wolfman, I saw that I had a missed call from our apartment complex. In the message that the woman at the office left she explained that the assigned spot she gave us the day we signed our lease had actually already been assigned to someone one else prior to us moving in. So I told her that that would explain why my car was egged the first night we were here! She put me on hold and I'm assuming that she spoke with her manager to let her know what I had just told her. Jeff was pissed. No other way to explain it :) he wanted me to ask her to compensate us with a car wash to remove the egg that was all over our car - she said it was a "park at your own risk" policy. That didn't go over well with Jeff so when we got back to the apartment Jeff went in to talk with them while I went to move my car to the new spot she assigned us which, by the way, was occupied so I drove over to the office to let them know. When I walk up to my car to get in I notice that they egged it AGAIN! After Jeff spoke with them the management didn't really do a whole lot besides say they spoke with the people who they suspect and when we get it washed we can bring in the receipt to TRY and have the cost refunded - the wash was only $10 and I had to go through it twice and that still didn't even get all of the egg off not to mention that the smell was horrendous! My poor car is always in the middle of some crisis! I drove her through a puddle and she had to get a new engine in ID, she was run over by a moving truck in VA, there was a minor incident when we first even pulled into Portland with the corner of the passenger door catching the side of the U-haul tire cover that bent and chipped some of the paint, and at the hotel we were staying at while we were waiting to be approved for the apartment a Chevy Cavalier pulled up next to us (there were a million other open spots around us) and a little boy opened his door and door-dinged the crap out of my car while I was sitting in it! Now the egg...

The evidence! The egg that ran down the rear was pooled in the truck seal...it was NASTY!
Anyway, we do really enjoy our apartment and still LOVE Oregon. It's super cute and a HUGE upgrade from what we were living in in Virginia. They have a 24 hour fitness center that I will check out today and a lake that has a 2 mile walking trail around it - Jeff said he'll walk with me on it today :) I will make a video our apartment to post here and take some more pictures! After we washed both of our vehicles Jeff promised me Bubble Tea! YAY, I think it's the greatest stuff in the world!

I had coconut - Jeff had papaya
Before we left Boise Gordon took us to see the new Boise Tower. It has an amazing view, I could have been up there all day. It's SO much taller than the old tower too.
The view from the cab
The new tower! The tower Jeff will be working in will be very similar to this just a little bit shorter but a larger cab.
I also finished Water for Elephants. It was an entertaining book. I love animals so much and there were a few parts of the book where one man is beating animals and animals aren't being fed properly and it tore me up! It has an interesting story to it. Time during the Depression is another period that is hard to imagine myself living then. The book also flashes back in time and into the future of the main characters life. It makes me think about my parents getting old and also about elderly people who are in nursing homes who don't have family to visit them or who don't have family who CARE to visit them. I would never want that for any of my family. I think my mom is a perfect person for her job - she is a RN at the nursing home in Mountain Home - she loves her job and she also treats her patients with so much care and respect. She also has alot of patience...which makes her a good mother too :)
I have 2 books that I want to read right now - My Sister's Keeper and Three Cups of Tea (My friend Erin that I met in OKC recommended this one)- I will start one soon! Any suggestions?

I don't get the "park at your own risk" policy. I mean, they friggin assigned you that spot - so that policy is a bunch of crap. Hope the jerks who egged your car get what's coming to them - karma is a you know what! OK, what is bubble tea!? Am I lame for not knowing??
I'm with Heather!!! Why would they assign you a spot when they have that policy!! Oooooo if Jeff had that happen to him I bet he'd raise Hell!!!! Anyway, hope it doesn't happen again. That REALLY sucks...
Oh I'm so sorry for the trouble at the complex! I'm with Heather! I hope the eggers get what's coming to them! That really stinks! It will be so nice when you can purchase a home. Ya won't have to worry about crud like that! I'm with Chris & Princess .... if they egg Jeff's truck the @#$%
will hit the fan!
That is one thing I thought when this happen...they were SO lucky they didn't touch Jeff's truck - someone might have died! lol Heather, Bubble tea is a milk tea that has tapioca balls that you suck up through a fat straw. If you look at the picture with the drink you'll see the black things at the bottom of the cup they are the "bubbles" it's chewy and delicious! They make smoothies too and put the tapioca in those too it's alot of fun :) We need to find you one in UT!
When I first moved to Boise, my sister and I were walking out of the church and someone through a frozen Gatorade at us. "It was a drive by fruiting." I also had cops follow me home all the time because I had California License plates. I don't condone this, but you do know where the suspected eggers park! Or you can turn the other cheek, but whatever.
By the way you will need tissues for my sisters keeper. My sister read it. She said she liked it but it had a lot of unnecessary swearing in it. She said it was kinda just thrown in without reason. But it is a book about teenagers and they tend to do that.
Nice to know you'll be living around classy people! haha, That's so ridiculous, who eggs a car? Unless they are in high school. Glad you found your bubble tea, and I think you should read 3 Cups....for a more sophisticated read! :)
Oh and Dawson is hitting on Sheree (New B, new blondie, etc.) at boot camp, unwelcome by her, and it's awkward for all of us! Yikes
