We aren't homeless anymore! YAY! We were finally able to move into our apartment yesterday. We had went in thursday evening to sign all the papers and pick up the keys so that we would be able to start right away on friday morning. My back is really sore today, I definitely got a work out hauling all of our stuff out of our cars and trailer. I had a good time rediscovering all the things that we had in Virginia! I had forgot I bought these new measuring cups and spoons at Williams Sonoma before I lost my discount...it was good to see them ;) Last night, after we unpacked most everything and had had the Comcast man install our cable and internet, we drove to West Linn to see Ben and his family. We had such a good time, Becca made a delicious dinner and we got to meet their 2 boys and they are SO cute! It's so cool that we have family close now!
Our apartment is still pretty much a disaster but it's coming together.

Kitchen slowly getting organized. We have awesome cabinet space - the island has drawers and cupboards on the other side. We also picked up some fun chairs from IKEA...one of many great things about Portland!
Living room, we'll have couches in here later today!
We put our application in on the 10th and we didn't get to move in till the 12th so we had a few days to just kill until we were able to do anything with the apartment. We went to the Lloyd Center, it's a shopping mall with an indoor ice rink. Tanya Harding used to practice there...I'm pretty sure the ice rink doesn't embrace that fact lol. I found bubble tea at the mall too - now I know where to go when I need a fix! We also drove up to Pittock Mansion in Portland. Jeff had been before but I hadn't so we checked it out and it had a beautiful view of Portland!
When we first got to the mansion there was fog on the ground...pretty awesome!

Oh wow! THis makes me totally miss Portland. It has been so long since I was last there. Love Pittock mansion and the mall with the ice skating rink! You guys are going to have so much fun exploring your new city. Your apartment looks super cute! And it has to be great having Ben and his family so close. It makes me wish Jon and Heather were still down here near us! Wish I could be there to help you unpack and get settled!

I'm just so thrilled you two are close and we go that direction occassionaly! Your apt. is nice. I want pictures posted after things are all put away! ha ha! We'll have to come and see the attractions when we see you. The only place we've seen in Portland is the Temple. (You should check it out too, it's beautiful) but I'd like to check out that Mansion and Mall and whatever else you discover. So glad your settled. It was like Christmas all over again huh? lol
